Failed Miserably!!!

Ok, so I failed on a few goals..

1st.... blog every day for 30 days.. I think I made it 1/2 way??  If I had a laptop I'm sure I could have held up to that goal a lot easier.. After coming home from a long fun day at the office, the couch just looks so inviting!  I thought for awhile I was coming down with yet another sinus infection, but turned out not to be.. just sinus junk I'll likely have to deal with until I decide to have my surgery!

2nd... working out everyday...  After 3 days of doing the 30day shred, I was miserable!  My Arms hurt SOOOO bad to move.  I'm certain I did some damage to one of my muscles, or just overworked it to much.  And from what I can gather, its not a great idea to work the same muscle group day in and day out! That you really should allow them time to rest and focus on other muscles.  But I can tell you, that video made me sweat, and I was feeling the burn in my legs, butt etc.  I think I'll get back into doing it again soon, just maybe without the hand weights so much??  I'm scared to look, but I think I might have actually gained a few pounds since my last post.  :-( Free Dr Peppers at work.. Girl Scout Cookies.. I just can't resist them!!

Ok.. an update on Aleena now.. I think most of you that read my blog are friends on Facebook, so you already know the outcome.. But I'll humor myself into thinking I might actually have some sort of blog following.. people that come in to check on us, and see how things are going!  Ok. now that I'm done laughing... She went to the oncologist, and thankfully he ruled out Lymphoma!!  But we did find out she has Mono!!  That is completely unrelated to the lump in her armpit, so were still working with our family DR on that!  She is out of school for the week, and can't play sports for at least 2 wks!

I think that might be it for updates!?

Soccer season has started

This weekend marked the beginning of a new soccer season!  We had 3 practices on Saturday!  Talk about just being thrown into it!   Peyton had a special treat at his practice!  Some soccer players from the local high school team showed up to practice with them!!!  They had a GREAT time!!

Peyton on the far right, tongue sticking out!

Peyton #23

Also.. I just finished day 2 level 1 of the 30day shred!  I still had to take a few breaks, but not as many!! and I can feel it in my arms and legs more today!!  It hurts to get up and down from the couch, wash my hair etc.  I just really wish I'd feel it in my abdomen, that's where I need the most work!! :-D

30 day shred challenge!

I'm ready for spring!! I tend to gain weight in the winter, with being stuck inside more, not going for walks etc.  Well, when I gained 6lbs in 2 wks alone this month, I knew it was time to get back in action!  Last week I bought an elliptical from a friend thats moving, and this weekend I bought a new workout DVD.

I haven't worked out this hard in a LONG time!!!  I'm hoping to see some great results from this!! So I'm taking the 30 day challenge to see what happens!!  Day 1.. Level 1.. A few 5 second breaks... This AM I weighed 143.6!

Adding it all up.. and feeling Blah!

Yesterday was a rough day. I was utterly exhausted; and working in my department alone. Looking back on yesterday I ate way more junk then I needed/should have... And won’t step on the scale for a week…

I drank 2 cans of DR Pepper at work 150 calories each = 300
Cup of oatmeal, I’m not sure on the calorie count... But I’ll take a guess at 150
Tuna and crackers = 225
Bag of sunchips while waiting for the car to get washed = 350
Then heading to the concert we stopped off at Whataburger; and I just about had a heart attack just now while adding up the calories on there site!!! I got a Chicken sandwich meal for a whopping grand total of 1230 Calories
I had water at the concert….
Then on the way home everyone was hungry so we went through Burger King and I got a JR Whopper with Cheese no onion = 420 calories *sigh*

For a grand total of 2,675 calories!!!!! WHAT!!!!!!!! I’m sick; I can’t believe I did that… I was so excited yesterday because I had to use a new whole on my belt last night. That’s OK… After I guzzle down this DR Pepper this AM (shh... I need a little wake me up this AM!), I’m sticking to just water and lettuce! J I’m hoping to be able to walk and get the kids again today. If not; I’ll be on the treadmill tonight or something. I’m going to have to work hard to get rid of the damage from yesterday. I’m going to justify it and say that I’ve been doing so good for awhile; that it’s NOT quite the end of the world that I did some major gorging yesterday?? Right??

Ok; On to the concert... We had a GREAT time!!! There were 2 opening acts that were OK... And the Cheetah girls were good. We had floor seats and just imagine the sheer joy in my baby girl’s eyes when the cheetah girls got on a stage less then 5 ft from us!! She really had a great time. As always; I have pictures... I’ll try and upload some in the next day or two and talk more about the concert and our time there.

Climbing back on....

I’m slowly getting back on the wagon so to speak. I just did my weekly weigh-in this AM in the break room; I now weigh 144lbs... That’s another pound for this week! Down 8lbs this month! I was so excited; on Saturday I wore a pair of jeans that 6 months ago I couldn’t even begin to get buttoned!! Most of my extra weight was around my mid section; I can tell that it’s going down some, and my thighs as well. I still have plenty to go... I don’t need to lose much weight, but man do I have some toning to do. Yesterday Aleena and I went on a 3 mile bike ride. I bought a medicine ball a few weeks ago that I’ve been trying to use while doing crunches and stuff. I need to spend my entire evening doing crunches! LOL… I’m also so proud of Jeff. He’s trying to lose weight and get back and shape. He’s joined an Adult Soccer Team, and he has been working out in the garage again as well. We don’t own a scale at home so I don’t know if he’s lost weight. He appears to have slimming down some as well.

Falling off of the wagon??

I’d like to look at it as taking a break, hiatus, some time off?? That would be my diet, exercise plan. 2 days in a row I’ve had a Dr Pepper! I’m still watching what I eat... I haven’t worked out much the past week or so.

But I’m going to blame it on life! It just really gets in the way!! Last week Aleena fell while rollerblading and sprained her wrist, so she couldn’t walk home from school lugging that heavy backpack (That’s a good excuse right??). We had some rain the other day. This week I’ve been busy every day after work, and have no time to walk and get them as I have to rush off somewhere else really fast. I’m hoping to go tonight and ride my bike or jog for a bit. I’ve only lost 1 pound this week. But I’m blaming that on Mother Nature. And yes, for those of you keeping track, I did just have my bout with her 2 wks ago. Dear Aunt likes to come quite a bit. Time to get back on the pill to get regulated! Blah…

Aleena has been away at camp since Monday; I’m so excited to pick her up today! I’m treating her to ice cream afterwards so she can fill me in on all of the fun (I won’t be having any with her, maybe ;-)!)…

Feeling Great....

Who doesn't hate stepping on one of these dreaded things?? I've never owned one; and likely won't. I usually just weigh myself on one at the DR's office yearly. If I had one in my house I'd become a slave to it; wondering every morning and night what I weigh! My office has one in the breakroom that I've been using. Every Monday morning I've been weighing myself to see the results. I was at 152 2 wks ago; and this morning I weighed 146lbs! 6lbs in 2 wks; that's great.. Although last week I had my unwelcomed monthly visitor, so maybe that was some of the weight, but I'll take it! LOL
I've been limiting myself to DR Peppers on Fridays only, and then I'm only having 1 can. During the work week I'm doing really well with my meals; Saturdays are my tough days. With spending a lot of time on the soccer fields its not always easy to find something quick and healthy. But I've researched all of the fast food venues and have my lists of "good" items from each place.
I'm still trying to fit in some exercise as well. I've been walking to pick the kids up every day from school; which round trip is about 2.5 miles. Yesterday I even took a bike ride to the school and back with Aleena. And on Friday night I walked over 2 miles to Aleena's soccer practice.

I must.. I must...

Decrease my gut!!

Since giving up daycare I've slowly continued to gain weight. I used to chase after kids all day, hardly ever sitting down. Now I sit down all day and hardly move around! I've gone from 125 up to about 152lbs in 3 yrs. I'm almost 5' 9", but I think most of it is around my midsection. This isn't anything new to those that have been reading my blogs for a long time.
But starting today; no more Dr Peppers!! WHAT.. are you crazy.. NO morning juice for me! *sigh*.. But after jean shoppin this weekend, it's a sacrifice I MUST make... I started my slimfast shakes again for breakfast, getting the 100 calorie snacks, and having salads for lunch. Just need to work on my dinners, I'm a carboholic; love my pasta's. Not much of a meat eater, so I think my dinners will be a Veggie Delight!
I have a treadmill in my garage but that's been overtaken by Jeff's car that is broken down. I started walking to pick the kids up, which is about a 45 minute walk. I'd like to add in another walk in the evenings, to do some "wogging" as well. And need to start doing my videos again. Hoping to trim down some!!

Finally did it!

A few weeks ago I was given a treadmill from the rental house next door that came up empty; they left behind a treadmill so it ws given to me. A few days after getting it I got Gout in my toe and was unable to use it. Last night I was able to walk on it for 20 minutes. I was hoping to go at least 30 but my toe was really starting to hurt me. I do what I call my “wogging”. I walked for a few minutes, jog for a few more minutes. Eventually I get so out of breath that my only options are for me to slow down and walk again, or have to yell for help so someone can peel me off of the ground.. So I chose to slow down. I don’t physically get tired, but man I get out of breath. Plus I was in my garage, and we are going through a miserable heat wave right now (today is supposed to feel like it’s 109)… By the time I got inside Joey thought it was funny how red my face got; looking much like a tomato. At one point I was sweating so bad I lifted my tanktop to wipe the sweat from my face. Well I had the garage door open about 1.5 ft, and at that moment Peytons friend, our neighbor, decided it would be a great time to peek under the door and see if Peyton was in there. He quickly got out but hopefully the view he got was enough to scare him from ever being nosey again! LOL I managed to go 1.5 miles, and burning just under 200 Calories I think it was. Hoping to tone up my thighs some; I don’t think they are meant to keep moving when my feet stop. J

Please pray for Jeffs Daddy, we had to call 911 on him about an hour ago. His blood pressure was all out of whack and he can’t stand up or walk, and had a headache come on really bad. The nurse and physical therapist were there and they called his DR who requested 911 be sent. Daddy wasn’t too happy about that. He’ll be 80 yrs old in September and I’m not sure how much more his body can take of these strokes and episodes he’s having. He fell one day last week and suffered some really nasty bruises along his body. We love you Daddy and are praying for you.

That’s about it for now.. OH, my cousin Regina just moved here from Texas, and I’m excited to say she’s going to be my next door neighbor (in the rental house that just came empty).
