Jr. Rangers Fan Club Membership

When you have a family that plays in sports the way mine does, there's no denying that we are huge sports fans.
I've had dancers, soccer, football, basketball, softball, tball/baseball and volleyball.

Last year we decided to sign the kids up as a Jr Ranger, and let me tell you, it was worth every penny!
We just signed them up again for the 2nd year!!
This is what you get when you sign up.
Join the Jr. Rangers club and get:

Jr. Rangers Drawstring Bag
5' x3' Jr. Rangers Banner
VIP Membership Pass and Lanyard
8 Ticket Vouchers for 2010 Rangers home games (some restrictions apply)
Coupons redeemable at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington
15% off Rangers merchandise in the Majestic Grand Slam Gift Shop (some restrictions apply)
Invitations to "Members Only" Jr. Rangers events
VIP "Front of the Line" access to every Sunday afternoon Run the Bases

With these vouchers you get free kids tickets to a pre determined game.  One thing I didn't find out last year was if your unable to make it to the game on the voucher, if you can exchange it for another game?? Might be worth asking, I'm sure there will be big games you wouldn't be able to switch too.  Last year with those vouchers you could buy additional tickets for the game for $12.50 each, on the voucher it says for an upper reserved ticket I think?  But we were able to get tickets down on the lower level, outfield, in some of our favorite sections!  So ask what sections you could go to when turning them in.  Let me know if you have any questions!!  We hope to see you out there!! :-D

Record Breaking Snow Amounts!!

Snow, Snow, and more snow!!!!  Some parts of TX ended up with nearly a foot of snow, with most of us averaging 7-9" I think I heard??  All I know was that it was A LOT of snow!! The kids didn't have school today so I stayed home with them.  We had fun making snowmen, having snowball fights, and just enjoying the beauty of it all, from inside the nice warm house!!  Aleena and Peyton were out there ALL day long, having so much fun.  Joey.. he didn't want any part of it, he's like his momma, wants the cold in small spurts!!
Here are a few pictures of our day!!

I've also been SUPER busy working on my diaper cakes.. I REALLY enjoy making these, and would love for business to take off.  I'm trying to come up with incentives for people, that would make it worth while for them to share my business with friends and co-workers... any ideas??  Id love to find people that would highlight my business on there blog for a day? make a quick post? something?  :-D  Take a look at my link below, let me know what you think!!!  Let me know you were here...

Snow..Again??

As most of you know, I'm originally from MI, but I REALLY think MI has moved to TX??  This is our 5th time getting snow?? And we have A LOT of it!!!!  I think we broke some records today, and it's supposed to all freeze over night.  Most schools in the area have already closed or issued delays, ours is closed.  The kids had a great time playing outside in it, building snowmen, having snowball fights etc.  And I made some snow cream.  (Ice Cream made out of snow)... Kids LOVED it!! Its the first time I've done it, and will have to make it a new tradition.  Peyton was eating his and said "Mom I can't wait to make this for my grandkids!!".. LOL... He's really pushing it huh..

Peyton LOVES to read, he'll go through 1-2 books a day sometimes, and still not be satisfied.  This is him next to the fireplace trying to warm up, with his book he got today.  That's Maisy relaxing in her new bed we got for her a few nights ago..

I've been busy all afternoon working on some new Diaper Cakes!  I hope to have these listed on Etsy this weekend.. Here's a sneak peek at what I have..

Please go to my blog listed below to see the others I've done.  I'd really appreciate any help on passing my blog along, I'd love to get new visitors to my site!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame..

I used to say in the past that during football season, I became an NFL widow..
Here lately, I'm just an all around sports widow though...
Between the kids and the hubby and the sports they play..
and Peyton becoming a huge baseball fan over night! (thanks Jimmy ;-))..
My TV is always playing some sporting event..
its on in the car most of the time..
and I'm on the sidelines cheering on Jeff
or one of the kids most days of the week and weekends..
The kids signed up to be Jr Ranger Fans, and with that pkg
they get vouchers for free tickets to a game.
We finally took advantage of some last weekend when
they were playing Boston.
It was as always, a great time.
The kids enjoy going to the games,
and I enjoy going to watch them have fun..
Plus the nachos are pretty good too.. most of the time..

HEY... I think he's got my nacho?? ;-)

Trying to take some self portraits with the kids.... have to prove I was there too!!

Our seats were right outside of the section where they do the live broadcast for Fox news.. Jeff put the kids on his shoulders and was able to get them on TV for a few seconds.. They were so excited.

Summer Summer Summertime.....

Happy hearts and happy faces,
Happy play in grassy places.

Pman trying to get warm...

I remember summertime being one of my favorite times of year.. Sleeping in late, enjoying Lake Michigan, swimming in the pond in my uncles back yard (which by the way I can't believe we ever did that), taking trips to TX to visit my sweet grandmother and extended family, picking blueberries, riding horses with my cousins, spending time at my Aunt Becky's house.. Blueberry festival, HarborFest, 4th of July, spending time at Kids Korner, Blue Moon Icecream.. These are all of the reasons why I love to go back to MI during the summer, brings back so many memories, and I want my kids to have the same memories, plus some new ones. :-) I don't think we'll be getting back home this summer though, which leaves me a little broken hearted... I will be heading to Las Vegas in a few weeks though to spend some time with my a few family members when my cousin gets married!! I'm so excited about that.

Over the past few weekends we've been trying to create some flower beds.. I didn't take a before picture, but imagine a tree with grass and weeds all around it! :-) The kids had fun helping us with this project. Let me tell you, this was the first time Jeff and I have ever done a bed from scratch, and we didn't really know what we were getting ourselves into!! LOL.. After about 5-6 trips to Home Depot that first weekend, we finally were getting the hang of it.. Still have some minor things to do, like cement the stones together, and finish the front yard..

But here is the "finished" project in the backyard. We aren't real sure what to plant, so just started with some basic flowers for now..

fun with friends..

Several years ago, I learned about a baby who was fighting for her life. She had Leukemia, at such a tender young age. You can read about her story here . I heard about her battle from Jeff, her uncle was a co-worker of his. I set out to help however I could, with fundraisers, spreading the word etc. During that time I joined a group called Friends of Allie, created in this young girls memory. Through this group I started walking in Light The Night walks, raising money for LLS. FOA was a huge group and people in each town started creating there own message boards to keep in touch, share ideas, fundraise, deliver meals etc. Through this group I met a few ladies that are now great friends of mine. One of them, Kristi, not knowing much about me, but knowing I was looking to get out of daycare, let me know about an opening at her company. And that's how I got the job I got today. I had corresponded with her on this message board, primarily about kids we were praying for, who needed meals, donating baskets to the hospitals etc. And met her twice, at LTN functions. I now see her on a daily basis at work, and we've grown quite close.. Thankfully, considering we share a cube at work now!! LOL We also met George, a sweet lady from England... And Heidi.. Who lives a few hours away.

"A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out."~ Walter Winchell

Kristi and I try to get together with George a few times a year, George might think its only so we can have her great curry that she makes, but I promise its for the great stories, conversations and friendship she offers as well... She's got a sweet daughter who is just growing like crazy.

"Friends are those rare people who ask how you are and then wait to hear the answer."
Heidi is also a very sweet lady. And what saddens me is that in the past 3 yrs we haven't gotten together, only communicated via email. Until she delivered her 3rd baby, and Kristi and I drove to see her in the hospital on a whim. But what breaks my heart most, is that this sweet lady and her family are being stationed in Germany. They will be moving in 2 wks. 3 yrs we wasted not seeing each other, and now for 3yrs they'll be on the other side of the world! Heidi is the mother to 3 gorgeous kiddos, 2 boys and her little princess. We've seen her 2 more times since she had her baby 2 months ago. One day she surprised us up at work after an impromptu trip to Dallas. And this past weekend us 4 ladies and our families (minus my hubby and grown son), met up at a park in Denton.

The weather was GREAT, the kids had a super fantastic time playing, I got to love on some babies.. and we got to spend some cherished time with each other...

Heidi, we'll miss you and your family dearly, but i know you'll be updating your blog with lots of cool pictures that we will all envy, and sharing great stories.. And we'll see you soon.. ((HUGS))

Weekend Getaway part 3....

Sunday morning we got up and lounged around in our hotel room. Not wanting to suffer from the horrible breakfast again we opted to buy cinnamon rolls and eat in our room. We slept in some, packed our bags and played video games. I let the kids bring there Xbox 360 with us, it was fun and relaxing to just hang out and play some games for a bit. We got on the road around 11 that morning.

The kids have always wanted to stop at the State Capitol, so on our way through we promised to stop by for a look around. The weather was gorgeous and it was a perfect time to stop and stretch!

The Capitol is a gorgeous building...

Joey and Peyton checking out some facts along the garden path

The kids were excited to know that we could go in for a tour of the building. I LOVED the woodwork inside, lots of great carvings, beautiful mahogany wood...
The kids at the top of a very tall staircase

The inside view when in the Rotunda

After spending an hour walking around and taking pictures we hit the road again.. little did we know we were in for some horrible traffic!! We didn't realize this was the same weekend as a Music Festival in Austin that draws large crowds. Shortly after getting on the road we were in a huge mess... We didn't get over 30 MPH for about 2 hrs!! Thankfully the kids were very well behaved, and didn't seem to mind to much.. but almost 9 hrs later we pulled into our driveway, exhausted!! :-)

Weekend Getaway Part 2!!

WOW... what a crazy few weeks this has been!!! I highly doubt to many of you are actually sitting around wondering where my next vacation update is, but here it is!! :-) (I'm getting quite aggravated trying to get the pictures lined up the way I imagine them looking on here???)

We woke up Saturday morning and went downstairs to enjoy a very busy and not so good breakfast! The yogurt was the best thing they had, and only because they didn't make it! :-)

After Breakfast we headed to downtown again to see the Alamo and do some more walking. My boss told me about a movie at the IMAX theater that shows a movie about the history of The Alamo, and the war. So we headed there first to watch that. Although the acting was not the greatest, the kids really enjoyed it. And we had fun walking around the Alamo picking out some of the details we had seen in the movie.

The IMAX Theater was located in the Mall, so after watching the movie we decided to head down to the food court to grab a quick lunch, and do some window shopping.

Joey looking really thrilled to have his picture taken!
Peyton enjoying the pizza from Sbarros

And those of you that know my husband well, know that he loves everything surround sports. He collects autographs, sports memorabillia and wants to attend a game at every stadium in the US. So imagine the joy he had when he seen this sign...

He of course quickly went in and bought some merchandise and after eating lunch stood in line with Aleena to get his autograph.

After spending some time at the mall we finally headed out to the Alamo.

While waiting in line for the Alamo the kids enjoyed seeing the horse carriages, and snowcones

After touring the Alamo we walked around in the gardens surrounding it, and took a few pictures.
I loved these pics of my mom with the kids
A few attempts to get the kids together.. they started out nowhere near each other!!

And 2 of my guys...

We headed over to some gift shops and we went in a Mirror Maze with the kids. Its this building full of mirrors and you have to try and find your way out.. The kids had a great time.

Then we headed back to the hotel to get ready for a night out.
For our anniversary we got tickets to see Billy Joel and Elton John! We had a GREAT time at the concert, we splurged on some good seats. I'm more familiar with Elton John's music then I am Billy Joel, but let me tell you, they both were FANTASTIC!! Billy is quite the entertainer... Doing a John Wayne impersonation, twirling that microphone stand everywhere, dancing on the piano, cutting jokes like crazy.. We had a great time!!
