Grocery Game..

First I want to share a picture of my great surprise from my hubby today.. I came home to these on my entry way table, along with a glass of tea and some candles lit.. Jeff has always been really good about giving me a drink the minute I walk in the door if hes already home.. one of the sweet things I adore about this man..

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a post about my grocery game savings..
Mainly because it’s been a LONG time since I’ve been able to go do some coupon shopping.
Hoping to get back in the groove with this as well, and get my pantry and closets restocked.
Here are the deals I got last night. I browsed this week’s ads and there are some great deals in there too!
I’m most excited about tombstone pizzas at Kroger this week, $1.99!!! My kids LOVE to eat those on the weekends..
And now that Joey can eat an entire one by himself, I’ll have to stock up on those for sure!

Albertsons:

Total before coupons was $32.11 after coupons I spent $18.39 for a savings of 57%.

2 packages of Kroger tortillas (from there tortilla “factory”, best tortillas in my opinion)

Total before coupons was $58 even, after coupons my total was $23.20, for a total savings of 40%.

My total out of pocket was $19.39! I saved $47.93

Albertsons didn’t have much, but I did get..

8 cans of chicken noodle/tomato soup
12 yoplait yogurts
1 large bag of shredded cheese and got 2 smaller bags for free

Spent $15.77 and saved $14.80

I saved $16.00 total; spending $8.61 out of pocket. Plus I got $8. in Extra Care Bucks; so really I spent $.61 for this! J My savings was really high because there was a new CVS that opened in my area (3^rd one in a 1 mile radius, that’s an entirely different topic of my soapbox though), so I got a $10 off $20 total coupon!

a few coupon deals..

I was looking through the ad last night and took advantage of a few things last night.

Kroger has there Ball park franks on sale for 10/10, and I still had coupons to save $1./2 so I got them for .50 each.

Land O Lakes Butter for 10/10 and there was a 50c coupon so I got 2 tubs for free.

And Kroger has there Jolly Time butter on sale 10/10 and at this link you can print out 2 coupons for $1. off making them free https://www.jollytime.com/promotions/coupons

Albertsons has Fresh Steamers veggies on sale 2/$3 and there is a $1 coupon, making them .50 ea.

My kids love yogurt so I’ll be stocking up on some this week. You have to spend $10 on Yoplait products and you get an additional amount taken off (can’t remember the amt though).

After the amount comes off Trix Yogurt is $2. and I have a coupon for .50 making them $1. ea.

Yoplait Yogurt after that amt is .40 ea and after my coupons I have I can get them for .26 ea.

And Gogurts are on sale for $2 and after my coupon I get them for 1.62. That’s not a GREAT price, but I’m taking advantage of 2 of them so I can get to my $10 shopping trip.

They also have Pillsbury cake mixes 10/10; I don’t have a coupon for those but I do for frosting, so I’m going to grab a few of those while they are really cheap.

Grocery Game Week 4...

CVS Pharmacy

I got 2 cans of Glade Air Freshner,
2 bottles of Purex Laundry Detergent,
2 pkgs of Revlon 12 hr Eye shadow for $9.77
plus I got $2.00 in ECB’s to use later, bringing my total down to $7.77!
I’m hoping to go back tonight and grab some more of the Purex while it’s on sale, just wish I had more coupons to go with it!

Kroger

I was able to stock pile a lot here…

I got…..

14 cans of Campbells tomato and Chicken Noodle Soup
6 bags of Chex Mix
6 boxes of Nature Valley Granola Bars
4 boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios
3 boxes of Cookie Crisp Cereal
3 boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch
2 boxes of Toaster Strudels
4 things of Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls
5 Stouffer Meals (my lunches)
2 Michelina’s meals (spelling??)
3 pkgs of Dannon Yogurt (4ct) Light and Fit
3 pkgs of Goldfish Crackers

For a total of $46.60! I saved a total of $71.70!! I would have saved $4.50 more had I realized Kroger’s rules. They only double/triple 3 like coupons, after that they do them at face value!! But, I got a catalina coupon printed out to save $3.50 off my next purchase, so that kind of evens that out for me.. But lesson learned!! :-)

Albertsons..

I haven’t been there yet, hoping to go tonight.. But I have a very short list with them.. this is what it is…

Softsoap Free… they are on sale for $1 ea, and my coupon of .35 will be tripled to 1.05. I can get 2 of these
Betty Crocker Warm Delights.. I haven’t had these before, but they are on sale for $2 ea, my coupon of $1. off will make these $1. I can get 4 of these
They have lunchables on sale for 10/10, so I’ll get some of those.. They make great snacks for the soccer fields…

Grocery Game Wk 3

I didn’t go out and get a lot this weekend either. I did manage to get to CVS where I got 4 boxes of cereal at $1.50 ea.

At Kroger I got:

3 boxes of Kleenex
2 Rolls of Bounty Paper towels
2 boxes of Cereal (Honey bunches of oats)
2 pkgs of Cottonelle TP 4 rolls ea
4 cans of Shaving Gel (Gillette and Skin Care)
1 box of Crackers
3 pkgs of Weber Grill Marinade seasonings
6 boxes of Uncle Bens Rice
And a bottle of Ketchup.
Total spent was $16.50; total savings of $24.67 (60%)

I didn’t see anything good on Albertsons list; except some hotdogs, which we don’t eat much of at my house.

Grocery Game : 2

This week wasn’t as exciting as my last trips to the store. They didn’t have as many must haves this week. I got up Sunday morning and went to Albertsons to get a few things.

Here is what I was able to get:

2 4lb bags of sugar for $0.62 ea

4 boxes of Yogos for $1.17 ea (trying to stock up on some snacks for school)

12 Yoplait Yogurt cubs for about $.40 ea (forget the exact amt)

2 double roll 12 count Angel Soft Toilet Paper for $4.50 ea.

I got some lettuce and tomatoes as Aleena has been begging for salads for over a week.

In all I spent $25.07; I saved $27.69 total.

So again; not anything really great. But these were items I needed and was able to save a little bit getting them. J

Grocery Game

As a family of 5 I’m always looking for ways to save some money. In the past I had signed up with http://www.thegrocerygame.com/ but didn’t really get into it every week like I should have. I’ve started in the past few weeks to really try and stock up on some good finds and thought I’d share my shopping trips this weekend.

I’ve gone to Kroger twice; my first trip was pretty good. I don’t have my receipt with me so I can’t recall exactly what all I got. But I know I got 3 bottles of Lysol all purpose cleaner, 2 Softsoap hand soaps, 1 bottle of apple juice, 8 boxes of cereal, 2 pkgs of personal care products, 2 bags of frozen tater tots, 6 sticks of deodorant, 2 bottles of BBQ sauce.. There may have been 1 or 2 more things... But I saved $57 (64%), spending only $33 on all of that!

Yesterday I went back and got 6 pkgs of Keebler Cookies, 2 bottles of Suave Bodywash, 4 boxes of Rice Krispie Treats, 2 bottles of dressing, 2 bottles of spray dressing, 8 boxes of cereal, saving $46.20 (70%), total coming to $19.49!!

I took my cousin Regina out yesterday and helped her save a lot of money in hopes of getting her pantry stocked up for her as well. A lot of things are things I wouldn’t ordinarily buy, but when I can get it for .50! I’ll get it!! J

If you’re interested in saving; start out by buying some Sunday papers for a few weeks (I buy the double edition) and clip and sort them. Then sign up at http://www.thegrocerygame.com/ , somewhere in the registration it’ll ask you who referred you, put me down if you can!
